Architects, restorers, designers, and students from around the world have just one month left to submit their projects for the 8th International Golden Trezzini Awards for Architecture and Design. The deadline for applications is September 17, 2025.
Named after the legendary architect Domenico Trezzini, whose legacy shaped the appearance of Saint Petersburg, the award has united professionals and emerging creators for eight years. The organizer of the Golden Trezzini Awards is the Worldwide St. Petersburg Club.

In 2025, the competition includes 20 main categories and 4 special categories, covering a wide spectrum of fields—from architectural design and restoration to interior design, set design, and student projects. This season, a special emphasis is placed on heritage preservation.

To date, more than 300 projects have been submitted from over 30 countries. Among the entries are the restoration of the "Young Naturalists" pavilion at VDNKh in Moscow, the architectural lighting of the Buryat Drama Theatre in Ulan-Ude, the Egypt Museum in Miami (USA), and a forest hut named "Beehive" in Bali (Indonesia). These examples illustrate the diversity of approaches and styles represented at the competition and confirm its international scope.

Projects are evaluated by an international jury that includes renowned architects and cultural figures, representatives of museums, diplomatic corps, academic community, and business from more than 30 countries. The Honorary Chairman of the International Council of the Golden Trezzini Awards is Mikhail Piotrovsky, President of the Worldwide St. Petersburg Club and General Director of the State Hermitage Museum.

The motto of the awards is “Architecture as Art.” The Golden Trezzini Awards stands out from other competitions not only because of its international jury but also because the best works are recognized as having museum value and are added to the collection of the State Museum of the History of St. Petersburg. Every year, they are featured in an exhibition at the Peter and Paul Fortress, promoting the preservation and popularization of architectural culture.

“Architecture is the language in which our generation speaks to the future. The purpose of the Golden Trezzini is to discover not just good projects, but bold creative statements that reflect the spirit of the time. We seek projects that are so vivid and daring in idea that they rightfully take their place in museum collections and inspire future masters,” says Pavel Chernyakov, Chairman of the Organizing Committee of the Golden Trezzini Awards.

The competition remains accessible to all: participation is free, and applications can be submitted via the website https://goldtrezzini.ru/ by architects, designers, restorers, creative teams, and architecture students from any country. This provides nominees with an equal opportunity to showcase their ideas on the international stage. Winners of the 8th season will be announced on November 21, 2025, during a Gala Night at the State Hermitage Museum in St. Petersburg. Laureates will receive gilded statuettes of Domenico Trezzini and certificates. Winners who cannot attend in person will receive their awards by mail.
