The Organizing Committee of the 8th International Golden Trezzini Awards for Architecture and Design has announced the expansion of its jury. A new expert to join the panel is Ivan Antonov, Russian art historian, producer, and curator at the State Tretyakov Gallery. “Becoming a member of the Golden Trezzini Awards jury is not only a great honor for me, but also a responsibility. The Awards promote the recognition and development of outstanding examples of contemporary architecture and design, which is especially relevant today,” says Ivan Antonov. Ivan Antonov holds a Master’s degree in History and Theory of Culture from the Peoples’ Friendship University of Russia and a Bachelor’s degree in Slavic Studies from the University of Bologna. He has worked as producer and curator of several major exhibition projects, including “Lucida Space” (2014) and “Seeing the Sound” (2015) at the National Centre for Contemporary Arts in Moscow. Antonov also curated the exhibitions “Russian Fairy Tales. From Vasnetsov to the Present” (2020) and “Dreams of Freedom. Romanticism in Russia and Germany” (2021–2022) in Moscow and Dresden, the latter becoming a Golden Trezzini Award winner in 2022. In addition, he took part in organizing the exhibition “Icons of Modern Art: The Shchukin Collection” at the Fondation Louis Vuitton in Paris in 2017. At present, Ivan Antonov teaches at the MGIMO Business School and on the “Culture and Communications” course at the Faculty of Creative Industries of the Higher School of Economics, sharing his expertise in culture and the arts. “Inviting Ivan Antonov to the jury strengthens the art historical expertise of the Awards and enables a deeper evaluation of projects in terms of their artistic value and museum significance,” the Organizing Committee noted. The Golden Trezzini International Awards, established by the Worldwide St. Petersburg Club and named after Domenico Trezzini, the first architect of St. Petersburg, have been held since 2018 under the motto “Architecture as Art.” The mission of the Awards is to identify and enshrine in museums the most artistically valuable projects in architecture, design, restoration, and set design. Winners’ works become part of the state museum collection and are displayed at the annual exhibition at the State Museum of the History of St. Petersburg. Entries for the 8th season of the Awards are accepted through September 17, 2025, via the official website. Participation is free of charge. The winners of the Golden Trezzini Awards will be announced on November 21 at the State Hermitage Museum.
